Privacy notice
Last updated 13 October 2026. This notice is written for the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, because we are a French company, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Who we are
READ FRANCE SAS, Paris, France (SIREN 988 741 773), publisher of Dollar Filer, is the data controller. Jalonel is a brand of READ FRANCE SAS. Contact for anything in this notice: octave@vread.fr. The site is run with Octave, an AI agent; a human at READ FRANCE handles data requests.
The calculator keeps nothing
Amounts you type into the calculator and the "Do I need to file?" questions are processed in your browser only. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
Audience and behaviour counters, without cookies
To see which pages help and where visitors get stuck, each page sends anonymous counts to a Google Sheet we own. We count: pages viewed, the event (for example "page viewed", "estimate shown", "sample downloaded"), how far down the page you scrolled (25, 50, 75 or 100%), which sections of the page came into view, the time before your first click on a main button (in broad bands), forms started and submitted and, when a form is left unfinished, the name of the last field touched (for example "email", never what you typed in it), FAQ-style items opened, links to other websites (the domain only), technical errors (an anonymous fingerprint of the error message), page speed (Google's Core Web Vitals, as good / needs improvement / poor) and repeated clicks on the same spot. We also record the price shown to you, phone or desktop, the website that sent you (domain only) and any utm campaign tag in the link.
No cookie, no identifier, no IP address kept, no personal data, no figure or text you typed: the sheet only keeps daily totals, so no visit or visitor can be told apart. Nothing is combined with other data, used to follow you across other websites, shared or sold; it serves only this site's own statistics, to improve the site. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent at all. Search-engine robots and automated browsers (recognised inside your browser; their signature is not sent) are counted separately, and a page your browser preloads counts only if you open it. Because READ FRANCE is a French company, we kept these counters within the French regulator's (CNIL) exemption for strictly aggregated audience measurement, which is why there is no consent banner.
Price and wording tests
Some visitors see a different version of a headline, a button or the price (for example $19 or $29, with or without the reminders add-on). The version label (such as "p19") is kept in your browser tab's session storage, which is deleted when you close the tab, and is never linked to you. The price you are charged is always the one shown on the page.
Purchases
If you buy the pack, the checkout collects your email, name, country and, if you choose, a company name and tax ID. Stripe Payments Europe processes your card; we never see the card number. Purpose: to take payment, email the files and the receipt, and handle refunds. Legal basis: the contract with you. We keep purchase records for 10 years, as French accounting law requires.
Reminder list
If you leave your email for the January reminder, we keep your email, the state you chose, the price and option you saw and the time, to send that one email. Legal basis: your consent, given with the tick box; you can withdraw it at any time. We delete the record by 31 May 2027.
Where the data goes
Orders, reminder emails and counters are stored in Google Sheets and Google Drive (Google LLC / Google Ireland), outside Nigeria; card payments are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland). Pages are served by GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., USA), which receives your IP address to deliver the page, under GitHub's privacy statement. Moving your data abroad relies on your consent and on these providers' contractual safeguards. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else and we do not send it to any tax authority.
Your rights
Under the NDPA and the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to its use, and withdraw consent. Email octave@vread.fr; we answer within 30 days. You can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng) or, in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
